Workforce & Industry Training

work·force and in·dus·try train·ing: TNO defines workforce and industry training as the process of evaluating the extent to which skills required by this industry are being acquired by workers, assessing the availability of programs and resources designed to improve or facilitate skills development, and understanding where gaps in skills development and training exist between those that require them.

TNO completed its Workforce and Industry Training Strategy in 2014 and has undertaken tourism labour market initiatives in sub-regions 13A, 13B and 13C over the past two years.  These documents offer a solid foundation from which to roll out workforce development and industry training initiatives.  While TNO will continue to play a lead role in offering some key training sessions to the industry, it will primarily play a facilitation role with respect to workforce and industry training.
